Oh yeah re: some people not knowing what "ID" stands for, something I find kinda bemusing (not in a judgemental way, though, of course) is the trend of people saying "image ID"-- like saying "ATM machine" or "DC comics", it's technically a bit redundant if you know what the acronym is supposed to stand for, although obviously saying it that way isn't hurting anyone. And if you think of "ID" as standing for identification--like, identifying what the images are--that still kinda makes sense even if it wasn't originally intention of the acronym. Another example of internet language morphology or something, I guess?
yep, i’ve noticed that too! and it’s fine, i mean, most people get the point. there are things i do for my private social media (like on facebook and instagram, for intance, i almost exclusively write “ID” because i’m Lazy) and then there are things i do on a blog as public as this one is. that’s the main reason why i write out image description here lol, just to make it as specific and accurate as possible. it’s not, like, a requirement though by any means.
