I want to know what will happen if Sam becomes a Prime. He has a Spark inside him but still looks human. This AU is more interesting to me than bot Sam! In the movie, Sam is not good at socializing and has no confidence in himself. Becoming a Prime means that he can even be on par with Optimus Prime and lead Cybertron, a planet that is not his hometown, to go further. For the Cybertronians, Sam is an organic Prime, which is unheard of. Sam has more to learn and think about, and may doubt whether he is capable of becoming a Prime. Optimus Prime and the All Sparks will help him ^_^

Sam as a prime is like one of those ideas where you can take it in many directions,

I really love when him as a Prime doesn’t completely disappear his “bad” personality traits, I think it’s fun the idea that Everyone who thinks “Optimus Prime” has this standard of what makes him a Prime they then expect onto Sam, and Sam is just not that

Because Optimus having traits other bots and humans dislike and find stubbornly difficult to work with is appealing to me, there’s just more experiences and long history to back up the reason people have to respect Optimus despite them

And it’s nice when the Primes all have different personalities and traits and such,

Sam being a prime who doesn’t disguise his opinions in vauge statments and neutral commentary. He being the prime nobody wants to go to first despite physically being the most vulnerable because he’s difficult to convince to do anything he doesn’t scoff at, because he scoffs at everything. “You work with bad people because good things still need to be done” Sam’s just not going to, no amount of money or good things that could come out of a deal would convince him, because he is a hater and refuses to make things easier. Sam’s mad because it’s hard because he doesn’t want to take the easy way because the easy way means people he hates

And everyone sees that and rightfully says this is the most ineffective way to lead and he’s a bad leader and they may be right sometimes. But Optimus and the Allspark are a little endeared by his stubbornness to not do things he doesn’t fully trust and understand. No rushing into things because there might not be a tomorrow and then regretting it because someone back stabs them or a deal has a loop hole and “if the world ends tomorrow I guess I’ll deal with it tomorrow but today I don’t like these terms and conditions so fuck off” and they wish they had the ability to tell anyone to fuck off for thousands of years

Sam’s humanness gives him a sense of “what will happen will happen” and he gets to choose what happens with himself and nobody will ever threaten that for him or anyone he wants to protect

I had the thought of Sam and Optimus switching places and it is, oof. It sounds fun. Like Sam’s young for a Cybertronian, much less a prime.

If he weren’t then it would’ve been somewhat more believable since Bee was younger than him but nobody believed he was a prime. Couldn’t understand how he’d ever managed to become one when the last of them were wiped out with the war and he’d been born in the midst of it.

Sam himself never even understood it. Only knew he was supposed to be going after the all spark which was on Earth and that he’d be taking his closest comrades with him. They were like family to him. A wildly dangerous and overprotective one despite his technical higher ranking status but a family none the less.

Orion was your average middle aged worker. Making visits to his local antique store once a month and picking up random little trinquetes and nice bits of furniture from there. His recent trip wasn’t too much of a success this time around, only a couple good books and a pair of glasses that were a little cracked. He’d thought they looked cool and would add a little charm to his entry table.

Despite the meagre finds the store clerk had insisted he take a picture for their social media since he’d visited the shop so many times. Something like a regular celebratory thing or something. He wasn’t sure honestly. Had even felt a little bad because he didn’t actually know the woman’s name despite visiting once a month. Only knew that she wasn’t the owner and was just another employee.

Now obviously Sam and the others find him through this social media post. They still send in Bee because Ratchet and Ironhide had been adamant Sam wasn’t allowed to be the one to do it and Bee was all too eager to have a mission after so long without.

So the start of the movie plays somewhat similarly, just no bike chase or love interest (thought maybe Elita can be there but as a friend dragged into crazy shenanigans rather than a love interest) before they all meet!

Oh! Also I had the thought! Since Sam is so young still and with the war and everything he never actually got a name, he still actually goes by his designation number or just the numbers for short. But his designation could either be S-113 or S-413. So it’d either be S-1-13 (S-A-M) or S-4-13. Like a licence plate sorta thing.

Woe to Sam, continually and perpetually outnumbered, even when Jack joins the family. Hell, even when he eats, Cas like pork rinds and crap food.

Who will eat terrible rabbit-food alongside Sam? No one.

Here’s a crack at Prime jet Sam

Based on the f-117 nighthawk, I wanted to go with something ancient looking, but also a bit of a weird creature

This is his very demure, stance, when he’s standing up for himself or others and needs more authority he puffs up to a very square shoulder flexed out wings, think of a bird flaring its feathers

Here’s a close up of is helm (in his first frame colour variation)

Testing out markings, his audial fins are inspired by his old wings and Optimus node as well as the back od neck and helm crest, his horns though I thought were a neat discreet nod to Unicron (him coming from a earth that was Unicron)

And here are some colour variations 

First reminded me of dreadwing, second was just flat shades to desern panels and third is again based off his first frame colours

I’ll be colour testing more

I’m very for happy for how he turned out, happy to have some sort of direction to go in. Not sure if it quite speaks to his character, I wanted him to have a regal and leathal frame sure but he may be a bit to… idk I think I just have commitment issues, let me know what you think!

okay. i genuinely struggle so much with colouring is this a good look?

The wing audial fins are remanence of his old wings, but i though he may stain them on purpose cause having something so pure white on him like that feels like a sick joke by Primus.

playing with the idea his gold markings tend to move, like the paint nanites ebb and flow and could make patterns that hint towards his mood? or mimic scars or injuries he may have had or feels he still has

I wanted him to be dramatically different from his og, but most of his colours are on the opposite scale of his og! His horns and some minor details are meant to pay homage to Unicron (unintentional reference to the idea of a gods blood being gold) , and in some way the greens and blues of earth, but does it actually look good? or is it to hard to read or imagine?

This theory that Sam is a prime since born, I meant in bayverse they said primes is born aka defendant, at least in spark. So the thory Sam is a prime in spark and not body is strong , I know a fanfic that explains that 👇

a few extended scenes in the novelisation that didn't make it into the movie. For those that haven't read it, here's the three most important ones.

While explaining what the matrix and harvester are, Jetfire mentions that the original war on Cybertron that was started by the Fallen was orchestrated to kill off every direct descendant of the Dynasty of Primes…except for one orphan who was hidden away, unaware of his destiny. No prizes guessing who that was.

When Sam is visited by the Dynasty of Primes, they say, and I quote: "You do not yet know the full truth of your past or your future." - Future I get, but past? Hmmm…

In the novel, one of Megatron's greatest drives is to given the title of Prime by The Fallen. Which he discovers is impossible via Optimus, who tells him that "Primes are born, not made."

👆 that is big proof that Sam is a prime since always and in spark way. Also other proof when Sam died in revenge of fallen, he immediately meet the primes self while it's probably just how they give him matrix, but remember a prime can meet other primes when they dead or coma and Sam meet them when he died, that self already proof.

The theory is crazy, I wander why there's no many fanfics about Sam is a prime

my guess to the fic thing is that being a Prime is something that's been built up as a scarred role for very few characters, and Sam is the exact opposite.

he was the first face of mainstream live action movies that famously lack good and consistent writing and character interpretations of long standing characters. He was a terrible character factually, underdeveloped and constant back tracked and regressed in morals and learning and shallow personality and justification to the level of story relevance. everything a Prime isn't or should ever be.

Which lowkey source material Sam is quite like interpretations of Sentinel Prime.

But that makes the writers who did see value or potential in Sam's character feel so refreshing! taking something rough and unpolished to refining and growing that characters life and character! its so cool to read!! and I think it makes a more compelling character in Sam! someone so unprime like growing!! and pushing to grow into something people see something hopeful in, how could you not see that as the human endurance and spirit equal to a bot with prime potential!!

Some greater power out there, in a universe you have such a microscopic view of, saw the protentional in one human spark across the universe and said we cant wait to see what you become! they had hope in Sam before Sam even had hope in himself!! that's so amazing! because if something could be seen in Sam, then that something could be in you!
