There is a way to use The Force as a super-effective navigational tool, combat computer, and speed boost for starships. Basically, it can turn any shitbucket of a ship into something that can evade military tech and find faster trade routes than anyone else. However, this is almost never used, because the conduit that you need to make this work is a living Force Sensitive person. You need to install them into the ship.

So Anakin gets captured during a battle in the middle of the Clone Wars. And gets installed, body-horror-dehumanization style, into a ship’s computer hardware. 

Obi-Wan and Ahsoka go on a deep cover mission as pirates. Hardeen plus Daughter, pretty much. They need to get deep enough into this criminal ring to find Anakin. They’re both badasses but also stressed out of their minds and so worried they can hardly sleep. 

But! When they can sleep, something odd happens. This machine he’s plugged into forces Anakin so deep into the Force, he can essentially dream walk. So Anakin gets a reprieve from the nightmare he’s living in to take refuge in Obi-Wan and Ahsoka’s dreams, where there’s a lot of hurt/comfort even before they realize that it’s really him, because they’re in their dreams and also very stressed and so really don’t hesitate to express how much they love and miss him. 

The miscommunication thing comes in because of how hard it is for Anakin to get them to believe that they’re actually talking to him, and how hard it is for Anakin to keep himself conscience enough to know that he is actually talking to them. There’s a lot of near-misses and misunderstandings. They all just keep not getting it.

But then they do and there is a hurt/comfort brain reunion and they all come up with a plan to save Anakin, and then they go and exceute that plan so that Anakin can get some real life hugs, too, after they get him out of this body horror hell computer. 

It’s a fixit because Anakin ends up so deep in the Force that he just. Sees that the Chancellor is wrong, within it. And makes a comment about it when they rescue him, which is enough to get an investigation rolling. Mace Windu beheads the asshole while everyone else is getting rest and hugs and comfort.

Shmi dancing or ani and obi talk?

Shmi dancing. This one i dont actually know where it came from, i think i read @ghostwriterofthemachine‘s lovely shmi fic and then just had Thoughts for a while until the beginnings of this fic tumbled out. it’s been stuck in WIP hell though as i try to figure out other things and get caught up with school.

The world goes quiet, and she holds her breath until her vision blurs. Finally, she relaxes, thinks she might be safe, thinks it’ll be okay.

A rough hand grabs her arm and yanks her out of her little cubby and she screams and kicks and bites and sobs. They shake her and throw her to the ground and Shmi thinks, ‘I hate you, I hate you, I hate you.’

They hit her and grab her and throw her in a ship and she wants to bite their hearts out like the stories say the Lovely one did, wants to rip their hearts out and gather the broken bits of her home in her hands and mend it, put it back together again.

She can’t though. So she sits with the other kids from her clan, her friends and the kids she played and prayed with, and watches with fire burning in her veins and scorching her heart with the fury of it.

The awful people shackle all of them and Shmi knows that she is not the only one desperate for the ability to move, to pray with the lines of her body and the shape of her limbs. 

Instead they sit in silence, chains around their wrists and feet and Shmi holds the hands of the children next to her. Soothes them as best as she can even when she feels like sobbing and screaming and curling up into a little ball.

ani and obi talk (a.k.a Ro tries to get these two dysfunctional men to actually have a productive conversation and Anakin is A Mess (so is Obi-Wan oops).)

On Tatooine, when the sandstorms blew in, the master’s had a favourite punishment. They’d take whatever slave had displeased them the most and chain them outside with little to no clothes as protection to watch as the sandstorm drew closer. They’d wait as the winds and the sands battered and scraped away at the slave’s skin and when they finally brought the slave in they’d laugh at the blood and the pain left behind.

Once, when he was smaller, before Watto won them, Gardulla had sent one of her kitchen slaves out for the sands to wear away. He doesn’t remember why she did, doesn’t think that the reason matters anymore, with how the memory has burrowed under his skin like poison.

i’m figuring out a couple of ideas for brujay week but i’ll share part of my entry for day 7 prompt (Bruce never adopts Jason) since that’s in its editing phase, a vampire au where jason is bruce’s sire.

It's almost eight thirty at night.

And Bruce groans, but this time, it's a different kind of hunger.

Jason sits up, and there is the imprint from the collar of Bruce's shirt high up over a cheek. Nanny!Jay - When does Jason realize he's caught feelings and how does he take the discovery that he's producing milk?

Jason caught the feels pretty early - as soon as he realised that Bruce was a good man and a good alpha, watched him interact with his pups, watched him trying so hard to be what they needed him to be, to keep them safe. When he understood that Bruce’s generosity wasn’t an off-hand thing - that he genuinely seemed to understand the impact his money could make and consciously worked to accomplish it. 

And then again, the man was handsome and fit, nothing flabby or soft about him. 

So, Jay knew there was a potential for a fall there and made himself not go there. Nope, no sir. He was a nanny, an employee, he had a degree to finish and will have to start his own life once this gig was over (no matter that thinking about leaving the boys at all was making him depressed). He know this wasn’t his world, no matter how easy it was to live in it, that outside of the Manor was reality and he wasn’t about to become just another headline of “a rich alpha pays off a mistress to be quiet”. He wasn’t going to be anyone’s ‘mistress’ if he could help it. 

But then things happened, and Bruce started to show his own interest - and Jay wasn’t sure of it was on purpose or if the alpha was simply acting like his instincts told him. 

And then he learned about the Batman, and that again put a damper on everything. He had to go to the clinic again - and Wayne covered the bill again. And they kinda pretended the whole Batman thing didn’t happen for a while. Bruce was attentive and really tried to help Jay get better, and it was so beyond whatever they were supposed to have as a an employer/employee... and maybe B tried to talk to him about the Batman thing - but there was always a pup there to get in the way - also something that was way more than they should be allowed. 

The boys took his crash badly and Jay did all he could to reassure them - including allowing them to sleep in his bed. 

That’s how he woke up one night - something felt strange, not right. He went to sleep with Damian scrambling over him to burrow into his arms, and woke up feeling strange pulling sensation in his chest. It was weird for a while now, a bit swollen and sensitive.
