As passenger numbers grew the airline transitioned to a mostly scheduled airline. ⁣ ⁣ Major restructuring and consolidation allowed the airline to increase turnover, resulting in further expansion from/ to airports outside of Scandinavia including New York, London and Paris.⁣ ⁣ Long haul Transatlantic operations were launched in 2017 with flights from London Stansted, Birmingham and Paris CDG however delays in the arrival of Airbus A321 NEO aircraft meant the airline had to delays plans to launch from Birmingham and charter in aircraft from EuroAtlantic and National Airlines whilst waiting for the A321 NEOs to arrive.⁣ ⁣ With financial losses mounting, and unable to obtain financing Primera announced that it would cease operations on 2 October 2018. A rare sight that will never be seen again - Primera Air Airbus A321NEO OY-PAE just arrived from Toronto as sister aircraft OY-PAF touches down from New York (Newark) in the background.

With Primera Air folding, London Stansted once again has no scheduled Trans-Atlantic routes which seems crazy considering it is the 4th busiest airport in the UK.
