I also play the Early Access game Species: Artificial Life, Real Evolution.

I dislike the artificial selection mechanics because it feels unnatural.

So I made nine blank slate creatures (using the Primum specium and saving every combination of respiratory system and diet [extremes to either side and the one right in the middle]) and put them in a world together.

This is the last member of the last of the original species to die off.

But one of those original species split off enough, and those species survived.

Riza holstered her gun, putting it back away. She wasn’t going to attempt to shoot Pride or his shadowy extensions. It would do no good (except possibly to make her feel a bit better for a couple of seconds) and would only end up causing problems in the long run--problems that she would rather avoid.

“Sneaking up on soldiers is not a good way to break the ice,” Riza said, “although I’m fairly certain that you know that.”

There was no one else in the office right now, except for herself and the homunculi that was masquerading as a young boy. He apparently felt secure enough in the office to use his shadows to scare her, which was not something that Riza particularly found comfortable.

“Are you here for a reason? Or is this just a social visit.”
