So I met with Lemon last Saturday, May 17, at the Mall of Asia (MoA) and I actually had no idea how I got there. As much as I love bus rides and traveling via public vehicles, I haven't been to MoA since high school so I really had no idea how to go there at first. Plus, Manila's not my place. And Manila will never be my place. Because Manila is never my kind of place. Abbey drew a map for me, though. But maps aren't really my thing. How the fuck do I know what's left and what's right? Nevertheless, good luck was on my side.
I rode the MRT to Taft. Saw different kinds of faces. Thought of different kinds of things. Didn't think an MRT trip can be that long. Took a yellow jeepney ride, and finally, I made it.
We actually had a pre-birthday celebration. He'll be having his birthday this Friday and I'll be having mine next week. Nope, I'm not gonna reveal my age. My profile's going to stick to the 20+ thing.
I really had a good time. Lemon is one of those few people who I really enjoy having conversations with. I only have a few friends. Well, I had a lot once. Reality just happened to snap the hell out of me so yeah, I only have few ones left. Legit ones. You can actually count them on your fingers.
We talked about a lot of different things. Like people from this site that I knew and followed before. We didn't talk shit of course. Well yeah, a little. But it's the kind of conversation people enjoy having with their friends so we're excused. More than that, we talked about my plans, his plans, and quite why I grew out this hatred for people who couldn't care less about things that are not to be cared about (he didn't hear the ending tho).
We happened to be both fond of this ride and this mother-son special date wouldn't be complete without it.
It was just a 15-minute circular sail but it was all worth it. What made it extraordinary were the unexpected firecrackers right before our eyes when we were already at the wheel's highest point. Perpendicularity at its best. I must say, that moment was completely magical.
Furthermore, (furthermore? i feel like writing a research paper) everything felt Seoul-like. Not that I've been to Seoul before but seeing how it looks like in movies, it felt like I was in it.
Looks like I'd love Manila if it weren't for the busy crowd.
I went home late. I was really fighting the urge to sleep because I was afraid I'd get lost. I wanted to ride the boat or idk what you call that, but Lemon was right. Everything would be dark by then if we did.
Lemon, I really had a good time. We will see each other again after 'our' plans. You know what I mean. And by that time, I'm pretty sure it'll be just like the first time we met. Kung nung unang beses tayong nagkita e pakiramdam natin ay parang fifty years na tayong magkaibigan, sa susunod na pagkikita natin e parang hindi naman tayo naghiwalay. Ramdam ko. Ganun ang mangyayari. Stay safe, okay? I love you.
This might be the last time I'll go to Manila before settling in Cali so... I've decided to visit what I need and must visit before going. So, hello Laguna!
Credits to the pinakagwapo at pinakasweet na anak, Lemon, for the photos.
P. S. I like the title of this post. Might make a prose out of it.
