So I finally got around to making a Rayfa Redesign! I got a lot of inspiration from the clothing around Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, and Northern India.
Her butterfly cape was something that I borrowed from some of her concept designs, and because I liked that motif so much, I gave her hair a butterfly look!
I loved drawing the fur hat and the wool lining, I might get around to redesigning Amara and Ga’ran some time! ^-^
arghh this is painfully beautiful

heyo im princess rayfa, an alter in an osdd system and obviously the coolest one
Some old design of an older Rayfa I made, might change the color palette/design later, pink suits her better
Any suggestions?
Can you talk about your Princess Rayfa spirit channeling headcanon?
YES.
So Princess Rayfa was always feeling super insecure that she couldn’t channel anyone, right? My question is this: Who was she trying to channel?
The most logical choice for a princess to channel would be the most recently deceased queen, right? Because that queen would likely know the princess, and she would know how channeling worked. So if Princess Rayfa believed that Queen Amara was dead, it would mean that she couldn’t channel anyone because the person she was attempting to channel was actually alive.
Can you imagine how mad she would be when she realized this
Reminder that Rayfa turns 4 years old today (12/24/17)! Happy B-day, Her Benevolence!
Thinking about Princess Rayfa
I've seen plenty about comparing Rayfa to Franziska and Maya, but there are a whole lot of parallels between her and Pearl, especially Pearl from Trials and Tribulations' last case. And I'm not just saying that because both are members of their respective ruling families, possess great spiritual power, and enjoy smacking Phoenix around when he does something stupid, though I do think those are noteworthy similarities. It's their relationships with their parents and the conspiracies regarding long-lost family that stick out to me. Both girls show unconditional love and devotion to their favorite parents, even after they are revealed to be self-serving and power-hungry. This may generally be considered a virtue, but for both girls it's a huge indicator of their naivety and unwillingness--or just inability, especially in Pearl's case--to accept and cope with these dark revelations. I'm too lazy to say much more now but I might post more on this later. In the meantime, here's just something to mull over.
