A while ago, I made character design boards for the Winx Club so I’d like to share the ones I made recently for the fairy forms. Now, this is not by any means supposed to be a true costume design because there isn’t the most to work with but, rather, I wanted the focus to be on stuff like color scheme, textures, makeup, and hair. All of the outfits have a combination of a rave bra, a mini skirt, and barefoot sandals for the sake of continuity.
Bloom:
I wanted to go hard with the whole fire aesthetic instead of keeping the pastel blue and pink from the show. To do this, I gave her lava lips and nails and then that smoky eye with the fire eyeliner paired with the rest of her outfit that has been done in the same fiery color scheme.
Tecna:
For her, I thought neon, glow in the dark, and holographic would be a good combination. This one lowkey caused me pain though because I really wanted to give her tripp pants and chunky boots but couldn’t because uniformity. Even so, I like how this came out.
Flora:
While keeping the pink, I wanted to add more green and definitely more vegetation, so I gave her green lips and nails and made sure there were way more flowers than she gets in the show.
Aisha:
I’m not in love with the skirt with this one but it’s the closest I could get to what I wanted, so here we are. Generally, with her, I wanted a clearer ocean aesthetic, plus some cool braids because why not.
Roxy:
I really wanted this one to be bright and colorful and the fake fur on the bra and the snake skin print on the nails tie in the animal aspect.
Musa:
I wanted this one to be very edgy and very white, black, and red. I picked that eye makeup because the colors and lines of it remind me of sheet music, which is something that shows up more clearly in the nail art, bracelet, and barefoot sandals.
Stella:
For this, I wanted to bring back in the part about her being the fairy of the sun and the moon with the design, since that tends to get lost in the show, which I did with the nails, bra, and makeup.
