idk what you want me to add, man, you’ve got a pretty fantastic headcanon right there. (lol, as i was typing that, i thought of things to add. here:)
remus pulling sirius’ hair back and braiding it when they’re paired during potions, so that he doesn’t get his hair in the cauldron
remus being anxious before the full moon, and needing to do something with his hands, so he just sits behind sirius and braids and rebraids his hair over and over
when sirius is in a bad way, remus lets sirius lay his head on his lap, and he braids strands of his hair while he waits for sirius to tell him what’s wrong
remus and sirius seeing each other on the hogwarts express after the summer, and sirius hair is just out of control, and so they sit in their compartment and remus braids it into something manageable while they exchange stories about their holiday
remus braiding sirius’ hair while trying to memorize history of magic factoids, bc it’s easier for him to remember if he multitasks
lily being really confused that sirius’ hair is always braided more meticulously than hers, even tho she knows for a fact that sirius is a shit braider
no one knowing how remus knows how to braid hair so well

(after he was bitten)
(after his transformations, he’d be in pain and frightened, bc he was still too young to really understand it, and his mom would hold him, and he’d play with her hair)
(eventually she taught him how to do little braids, just so he’d stop getting knots in it)
(and after that it became a nervous habit--braiding anything he could)
(until he just got really good at it on accident)
(sirius was kind of the perfect addition to his life tbh)
