One Piece World: No Specific Time (No Spoilers)
“She” ❤️ Married and baby daughter with Mihawk requested by princessanimetrash
Mihawk’s hearing was a lot sharper than the usual human so he heard the beginning whimpers of his daughter from down the hall. He pulled the blanket off of himself and stood up, grabbing his jacket before leaving the bedroom. His footsteps echoed the castle as the cries became a bit more audible. He could hear the soft snores coming from Perona’s room and he was somewhat relieved that his daughter’s cries only had woken him up. He walked into the nursery and made his way over to the crib. He placed his hand on her cheek, her cries quieting down at the touch but still letting whimpers out.
“Dear, you’ll wake up the castle at this rate.” He murmured to the baby before removing his hand and picking up the small bundle. He rested her against his shoulder, gently bouncing her and rubbing her back. He grabbed a bottle of milk from the small fridge that was in the nursery. He shook the bottle while he walked over to the rocking chair that was in the corner of the room. He took a seat and maneuvered his daughter so that she was cradled in the crook of his arm. Her small hands reached up to his face, her fussiness increasing with every whimper. He nudged the bottle into her mouth gently and her hands grasped the bottle, eyes closing halfway as she drank happily.
He kept his hand on the bottom of the bottle so it didn’t fall on her and he rocked gently on the chair. Once she was done with her bottle, she pushed the nozzle away from her and cuddled into his chest. He put the bottle down on the dresser next to him and moved her onto his shoulder, patting her back gently. She let out a burp and he got up again to take her to the crib. He laid her down in the crib, smiling at her big yellow eyes looking at him. He brushed the back of his hand against her cheek before pulling it back and looking through his pocket. He took out a small bracelet; it was a gold chain with a small gold heart hanging next to a matching plaque, engraved in cursive was his daughter’s name. He unclasped it so that he could wrap it around her tiny wrist and he sighed in relief that it fit on the last clasp, although still a bit loose.
She seemed to enjoy it as she shook her wrist before laughing and letting her eyes follow the little heart that shook and hit against the chain, letting little clinks out. It was a nice combination. He looked through his pocket again and took out something else before dangling it in front of her. (Y/D/N) squealed happily before grabbing the chain. She pulled and tugged at the chain before squealing again and shaking it around, making the man smile again. He leaned down and brushed his lips against the small girl’s forehead.
“Take care of that for me, alright?” She yawned loudly after his words and he took it as his cue to leave. He grabbed the fleece blanket and pulled it over her, the blanket covered in drawings of Perona’s ghosts; a gift from the woman once she learned of the baby’s arrival. He looked at the mobile above the crib and turned it on so it slowly started to spin and soft piano notes came out from it. His daughter watched the mobile until her eyes closed and she was asleep again. Mihawk pulled up the gate of the crib and he left the room once again.
Natalie woke up, facing Mihawk’s back, and a weight filled her chest. The night before was a rough one. A night where her depression hit her like a ton of bricks and, even her daughter’s giggles, couldn’t ease the pain that she felt. After some time to herself and sleeping the day away, she didn’t feel as heavy anymore. As she looked at his back, however, the weight of depression was now more of guilt. Her hands gently traced his back before moving closer and wrapping her arms around his waist, nuzzling between his shoulder blades. He let out a soft hum and one hand covered yours.
“Good morning, dear.” She muttered, pressing a kiss between his bare shoulder blades. “I’m sorry about yesterday.”
“What about yesterday?” She knew he didn’t want to make it a big deal and that made her smile against his skin. At the motion of his smile, he turned around so she could give him a proper hug. He rested his hand on her waist and pressed a kiss against her forehead before leaning down and giving her a proper kiss. She hummed into it, fingers tracing his back as their lips moved in sync together. She pulled back to yawn, making him roll his eyes and her giggle.
“Sorry.” He shook his head at her teasing apology and moved to sit up.
“If you really are sorry, you can check on (Y/D/N) while I get the newspaper from the News Coo.” He grabbed his jacket and went over to the closet to grab a shirt. Natalie pouted at the loss of warmth but she smiled at the thought of seeing her baby.
“Okay! That’s a reward more than a punishment!” He chuckled to himself as she stepped out of the room. As he pulled his shirt over his head, his eyes closed, wondering what her reaction would be.
Natalie pushed the door open and smiled at hearing the piano notes coming from the mobile above the crib. She walked over to the crib and put her hands on the bars, about to push it down to pick up her sleeping baby but stopped once she spotted something shiny. Her daughter’s wrist was shining with a new bracelet, a soft smile raised her lips at seeing her name engraved in the gold plate. On the same hand, there was a necklace clutched in her fingers, making the older woman blink. She gently opened her daughter’s hand and took it out, eyes widening at the necklace. The chain was a simple silver but the actual trinket at the end was locket shaped and there was a red heart shaped jewel behind the glass. She let the trinket rest against her palm, mouth ajar from how pretty it looked.
She heard soft footsteps come up from behind her and hands came from behind to grasp at the necklace in her palms. Familiar fingers unclasped the chain and it rested naturally against her collarbone once he latched it against the back of her neck. She turned around to throw her arms around his neck, smiling at Mihawk’s blank expression. Her hands tangled in his hair and she gently tugged him down so that her lips brushed against his.
“Is this for Valentine’s day?” She teased, her breath hitting his lips. He grunted, hands resting on her hips now. She smiled and applied more pressure into the kiss before muttering against his lips, “happy valentine’s day to you too, dear~”
