Hiccup knew that they were falling before it even happened. He felt Toothless body relax under neath him and they were free falling in the air. It was understandable. They had been chased for hours by so many Whispering Deaths after discovering their nest on accident. Hiccup and Toothless flew and ducked away from the dangerous dragons. But it came at the price of not knowing where they were going and Toothless tiring himself out. Now they were falling and Hiccup didn’t think he could wake Toothless up in time.
"Toothless! Toothless!" Hiccup attempted to shout over the wind in their ears. He didn’t care what happened to him. He just needed Toothless to wake up so they can get out of this mess. He shook the dragon. Just a few more minutes. He didn’t want to think about the incoming ground. “TOOTHLESS!" That seemed to do it as the dragon’s eyes snapped open. His wings opened wide and that slowed their descent just enough. The duo fell from the sky still at a dangerous pace but not at a killing pace. Hiccup winced as their bodies hit against tree branches. He couldn’t hold on. In their descent, he was ripped from Toothless’ body. Hiccup managed to watch Toothless crash through the trees before his head hit something hard and the world went black.
