November 11, 2020 - Pringle's Puffback (Dryoscopus pringlii)
These birds in the bushshrike family are found in savannas and shrublands in parts of Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, and Tanzania. Foraging low in dense vegetation, they feed on caterpillars and other insects, often joining mixed-species flocks. They build neat cup-shaped nests on branches. Males puff out the long white feathers on their backs during courtship displays.
