Miriam Rudolph - Witt Visiting Artist
We are excited to welcome Miriam at Stamps as a Roman J. Witt Visiting Artist On Wednesday, February 7th, Miriam will visit Introductory Printmaking class (1:30pm-4:30pm) where she will conduct intaglio printing demo. On Thursday, February 8th, Miriam will visit Methods of Inquiry and Lithography Printmaking (1:30pm-4:30pm) where she will present a lecture.
Miriam has been given many honors, including the University of Alberta Graduate Recruitment Scholarship, the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Graduate Scholarship (SSHRC), the Walter H. Johns Graduate Fellowship, and the Alberta Foundation for the Arts Scholarship for Art and Design.
Recently, Miriam has collaborated with ceramic artist Terry Hildebrand to create new works - Broken Seed Jar, of porcelain, with digitally printed decals, and Seeds of Hope, which features intaglio, porcelain, screen printed decals, and top soil. It is 300cm x 240cm.

We are excited to welcome print artist and educator Taida Jasarevic Hefford to Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design as a Weiser Visiting Fellow this month, October 1 through 31. Sponsored through the University of Michigan Weiser Center for Emerging Democracies, Taida Jasarevic will work on a research project entitled “Imagined Landscapes/Sediments of Belonging: Post-Digital Plate Expression” in cooperation with Professor Endi Poskovic. Taida will also present a public lecture about her practice and share her work in printmaking on Thursday, October 12 at 1:40pm, Printmaking Studios, room 2143.
Taida Jasarevic Hefford is an assistant professor of art at the Academy of Fine Arts Trebinje, University of East Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. She has exhibited in many solo and juried exhibitions around the world and has participated in conferences and symposia related to contemporary print media. She was awarded a scholarship by the Japanese government and completed her PhD in fine arts at Joshibi University of Art and Design in 2010. Her works are in the collection of Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Center, Machida International Museum of Graphic Art, National Taiwan Museum of Arts, Ino-cho Paper Museum Japan, Guanlan Printmaking Base in China, and others.
