YFR’s 2019 fic event, Printed Melodies, will be a prompt claim centered around Yoongi and Jimin’s music - solo songs, production credits, and features. All prompts draw from the lyrics, music videos, comments or tweets about the song, or the general vibe of their songs. Participants will claim a prompt to write a 2,000 word minimum Yoonmin fanfic!
Sounds cool! How does it work?
Prompt claiming will occur on AO3, where various prompts have been uploaded for claiming. When claiming opens, participants can hit the “claim” button and submit a sign-up form here for the prompt they want! Claiming is first come, first serve. You can view the list of prompts here. Please do not submit any sign-ups before claiming opens; they will be disregarded.
Fics must be 2,000 words minimum, center around the chosen prompt, and have Yoonmin as the main ship. Once you fill out the sign-up form and claim a prompt, you’ll receive a confirmation email from the admins; after this, you may start writing! All due dates are midnight Pago Pago time.
Claiming Period: June 9 - June 22
Check-In (brief summary of your fic): August 3
Dropout Deadline: August 17
Final Deadline: September 14
Posting Begins: September 18
Q. Can I request an idea for a prompt that isn’t on the list?
A. Shoot us an email, and we’ll talk about it! Preferably before claiming opens.
Q. Claiming is closed, but there are prompts available and I’d still like to join. Can I?
A. Shoot us an email and we’ll see if we can work something out!
Q. I claimed already, but I changed my mind. Can I switch my prompt?
A. Yes - shoot us an email before you do anything.
Q. Do I need to have an AO3 account to participate?
A. Yes. Feel free to make one or ask the mods for an invite, which may take longer.
Q. Can I write for more than one prompt?
A. After you complete and submit your first fic, you can claim another unclaimed prompt to write a second fic. Just send us an email to let us know that you’re doing this.
Q. Can I write for a poly ship including Yoonmin?
A. No, sorry. Yoonmin only!
