Color Printing Guide with UV

This Color Printing Guide with UV is a cool new product that was created by a member of The Game Crafter community. We think this could be a helpful tool for game designers and tarot deck creators who print at The Game Crafter. It has over 700 color swatches (with hex codes) as well as a Color Psychology Quick Reference with 11 colors and 40+ associated keywords for each.

We love seeing creators in our community make tools to help other creators. Kudos to Worlde of Legends for making this resource available!

It's been reblogged into the stratosphere already but because it's been bothering me I want to amend the point about turning off black point compensation in the first tutorial (which I've since amended but too late whoops). You can do this in RGB mode to simulate how a darkened print might look, but generally you leave it on. It made sense to me at the time because this feature looked more like my IRL print than the screen did, but if you should know anything about colour matching it's that it's complicated and dependant on a whole lot of factors.

I'm working on that printing guide I was talking about a little while back. Making some graphics for the section on the poor misunderstood creature that is CMYK. Thought I would go for a kind of hand rendered look. Do you have questions about printing that you would like answered?

Since SMASH! is close it got me thinking about making a guide for how to make prints for illustrations/cons/etc and I was wondering what people most want to know about printing? I worked in commercial prepress and digital printing for a year and would love to offload my boring knowledge to you all, covering such topics as "Why does my file look like butt" and "what are all these printing terms I don't understand help" So what do you want to know?
