He isn’t actually sure, entirely, where he’s gone this time -- just that he was too restless to stay where he was, too restless to wait. The others were all waiting for their computer to pick the next distortion up, somewhere else to look for the missing Ven, to look for Aqua. But he couldn’t...couldn’t wait forever. So he set off on his own.
Going over things in his head like a broken record as he walked -- Ven was missing, Aqua was missing. The young Xehanort had tricked her somehow into opening Ven’s hiding place, and now they were...the best case scenario, the one he prayed for, was that they were running together. The worst was...too terrible to contemplate, so he didn’t. He wouldn’t.
He had to find them. Had to. They had to be safe again, together, so they could fight Xehanort. The three of them like old times, with the new, younger generation -- Sora, Riku, and Kairi -- and Lea, and Vanitas too.
But he has to find them, first. His best friends, ten years missing. Will they know him when they see him, or will they see only Xehanort, dark skin and silver hair? Only an enemy? He--
His thoughts stop dead in their tracks as he sees a flash of blue and black in the distance; he bolts forward, Stormfall leaping into his hand, before he can keep thinking, and he sees a swarm of Heartless. That wouldn’t be a problem, but then, in the midst of them...oh god. It’s her.
He doesn’t think -- all he can see is his best friend, right there, and suddenly no time has passed. “Aqua! Hang on!” He yells, barreling into the fray and starting to take down the Heartless in tandem with her. This won’t last, this familiarity, like old times -- the fight will end and so will this moment, and then reality will need to be addressed.
But that’s then. This is now, and Terra can think about nothing important but the battle.
