Prismtone: Range Murata Anime Works 1998 - 2006 (part 1)
A page from Murata's Art book, Prismtone that featured his works from 1998-2006. A great book packed with about 300 pages. The book mostly features his Last exile work. But it also includes his work from Blue submarine no.6 and the canceled Murdock scramble OVA. Highly recommended for any murata fan if you don't already own his previously published Last exile donjins "Spheres" Published in June 2012
So this is the last bit and I must say I really enjoy this book.
That last picture is more of a detail shot to highlight how you can see the grain of the pencil lines in each and every image here. It's a very big book and great for reference. Next to Gaisokyu and maybe another one it's definitely one of my favorite art books I own.
Here's some more all of them sketches.
The Tatiana ones impress me especially much, he put so much detail into that helmet it's crazy.
Here's some more. My internet's kinda in and out so might have to post last couple parts whenever I can.
Anyway the chapters basically break down into illustrations>character designs>vehicle designs>object designs>background character designs>thumbnails for illustration. It's really really really fun to look through and there's just so much content it's ridiculous.
