related to the how dean would react to sastiel ask can you speak a little on how you think dean would react to sambenny especially if dean and benny don't have a sexual history together (and I know that's unlikely hehe but just for the purpose of this question)
whether or not dean and benny were sexually involved (in My head they were) dean’s reaction would be the same lol. which is that he really wouldn’t like it. dean spends all of early s8 keeping sam and benny away from each other ostensibly bc he assumes sam would kill benny on the spot (does that sound like sam? no. it’s what dean would do if sam was the one with the ex-con vampire buddy. it’s what he did to amy.) but more realistically bc dean cannot deal with sam confronting him about this serious breach of his own Hunter Code. and the canon didn’t intentionally incorporate this next bit but there is such an added layer of tension btwn these three in that dean was helping benny “stay clean” by directly supplying him with blood whereas sam’s blood addiction was only ever treated like something deeply shameful and unnatural and as such not worthy of dean’s support. I’m not saying that benny’s monstrosity was subtextually handled any better than sam’s, I’m saying that dean treated them differently as people and that in a narrative that valued sam’s perspective sam would understandably be deeply hurt by this, given the violent punishments that his monstrous body Earned him, much of that violence administered by dean himself.
all that to say I don’t think dean would be consciously aware of the nuances of these hypocrisies on his end but he’d have this subconscious fear of sam and benny knowing each other, whether it was because they might hate each other or because they might become friends - he wouldn’t be sure at first which idea he liked less. and if he got confirmation that they were fucking he would lose his mind a little bit lmfao. like it’s just not right! what do they even have in common! (a lot more than he’d like them to.) wasn’t benny supposed to ask for his permission or something! and also suddenly dean is pearl-clutching much more aggressively abt benny’s vampirism now that he has the potential to be a Bad Influence on sweet darling sammy. sam would absolutely loathe the change-up (“he was your friend first and now you have a problem with him too?”) it would be SUCHHH a mess. imo dean would put both sam and benny in the meat grinder in any kind of sambenny scenario without even meaning to <3 there is simply too much baggage there and too many strong personalities (dean + benny + early s8 sam = fireworks)
