Super Snõõper - Snõõper (2023)

Absolute frenetic, wild, garage rock chaos from moment one, jumping from short song to short song with no room to breathe. Very fun. On the chain punk-egg punk spectrum this sits somewhere between a Sex Bob-Omb and a Le Tigre I'd say, definitely more conventional punk than a lot of the egg punk I've heard but still pretty eggy. I do wish the vocals were a bit clearer in the mix because I like what I can hear of the lyrics, but it's punk what are you gonna do.

Standout tracks

Pod is where it really hits its stride after a maybe-too-weird start (oh no a whole 90 seconds of rough start whatever shall I do)

Powerball is a perfect little classic egg punk package, super duper DEVOcore

Music for Spies and Unable are where I most directly draw the band comparisons earlier from, respectively

Running is downright psychedelic compared to the rest of the album, filling out a sprawling 5 minutes with hypnotic reverb-laden riffs and a driving beat.

its insane how fun of a band snooper is to see live. you know when a band starts playing bigger and bigger rooms you start to worry that something will be lost but every time ive seen them im just blown away by how much of a good time i have. and theyre playing NPU on monday? devo voice alright!!!
