about the “privacy” update
you all probably heard about the issues regarding tumblrs new privacy update and how tumblr resets all your options when you leave the site right????
i wrote a thing to the support, maybe copy and send it too, so we might get their attention and get them to change it

Dear Tumblr Support, Now with the new EU laws of data protection (GDPR) I was really looking forward to seeing how you would incorporate them. I was deeply disappointed to see what you made out of it. In the new laws, it is stated that the default settings for accounts need to be privacy friendly from now on, which I feel is not the case here. Giving out personal data to around 200 different advertising partners is NOT privacy friendly. Especially, just providing an option to manually turn off personalised advertising and withdrawing the rights for all these ad-partners - just so they are automatically turned back on upon leaving the site - is unacceptable. This is against the new European law. You need to take action and change this. This is not a request, but a necessity to you. You need to do better.
