i need to post this here because i can’t post it anywhere where people actually know me: a good friend of mine (six years younger than i am) just came out to me. just like that. so casually in fact that i thought he was joking at first (i’ve apologized for that) but then he was so nervous, i could tell. i’m the first person he’s told. ever. he’s known for a couple years he said but i’m the very first person he’s told and now i’m about to cry as i’m typing this like what the fuck did i do to be worthy of this level of trust

So apparently I’m not the only one disturbed with Made in Abyss’s depiction of... uh, sexual content. With wrong contextes.

I’m usually okay with nudity, and I’m used to anime fanservice, I get grumpy at the later and a bit shy on the first but it’s okay.

Content that pushes the reader/watcher to see characters looking at someone’s genitals, or always referring to it, or outright touching body parts even if it’s obviously WAY over the normal private boundaries, uh I get really annoyed, angry even. I’m not here for that. It’s not cute or sexy to me it’s just taking too much time for weak jokes and things I haven’t come for.

After watching Made in Abyss, I was left with a slightly wrong impression. Then I read the manga version.

I keep thinking about what I saw and cringing at it. Oh Lord, please make me unsee these.

I’m not against Made in Abyss and everyone has their fetishes I guess. And they don’t go far in Made in Abyss.

I mean, the punishment with striping a child nake bondage-style, well, I’m not for it, I don’t condone it, if I saw that I’d scream murder and try to get the child down, but it has some context. It’s for punishment. Nothing else.

To have a character get out of a bath asking for something to cover them up while, by consequence, naked in the room, I can understand.

To have a character pee themselves in fear, I--again--understand. It adds to the gore.

But did I really want to see a Hagrid-like figure pick up a child and check under their trousers and pants to see if their was a rod? 

Did I really have to see a character sniff out Reg’s pants which are obviously tented by his dick??

Did I have to understand that a toilet was made so some tentacle-thing literally wipes a girl’s butt?

Did I have to constantly see the heroes covered in liquids and juices, especially when they screamed? Like when somehow Reg was covered in insect juice--was the insect juice necessary please?

Did I have to see something resembling tentacle rape here?

Did I have to see Rico trying to look at Reg’s lengthening privates?

Did I really have to read “oh yeah when Reg saw Nanachi’s boobs it became stiff” and then “Oh yeah, like Papa’s rod”???

I... wasn’t prepared for it.

ok so just talking about myself in a confused midnight like that because nonone actually know me

i always have strongly anxious about grammar even have to use grammarly before sending a five words comment in reddit. everytime i wrote something down and use grammarly woooww what a incrediblenumber yellow and red lines. and now i turn it off just make some original rant. i never care about my grammar mistakes in Chinese because i know i am good at it even sometimes have mistake and them become one of my talking style.

sometimes i wonder english can be my first language so i can read most of text in the world easily. i can read chinese very, really fast like flash but english ?can't! usually just read one english paragraph without any dictionary and translate is the most proud thing i can do.

I am Really Tired of being an immigrant.

I know I can always go back to my country.

But like. My country is too small minded for me, there's not enough jobs, people are all the same.

Here in Europe I have an international network, a partner. I speak 4 languages. Like.

I'm so fed up with everything. I understand why the immigrantion laws. I don't think they're 100% fair, but I understand.

I need to find a job. There's no jobs.

I want to get a family visa. My partner wants to wait until the last minute.

I want to be free. I don't have money.

I have been doing everything legally, doing all the processes, but now my internship might get rejected because I don't have the renewed Visa version, only the "in process" document they give us.

I need a job to get a visa. Can't get a Visa without a job.

No marriage for this lady because my partner doesn't want to.

Listen, FICTION is separate from REALITY.

Fiction is fantasy. As in, NOT REAL.

And particularly shipping. Like, it's about fictional people from fictional universes with fictional emotions in fictional relationships. Why do y'all want to give it moral weight in the real world???

To have people judge someone's character or moral standing based on their fucking fictional tastes is absolutely ridiculous.

"They like the murderous villain, so obviously they are murder apologists or murderers themselves". Do you even listen to yourselves as y'all type shit like this???

For the most part, most people have a pretty good grasp of the fucking wall separating fiction from reality.

The standard should be knowing that people do not carry their fictional preferences into the real world. If you need to judge somebody's character, do so based on their actual real-life opinions. Please. We all need to grow the fuck up.

No matter how much the soundtrack tries to dissuade me, "Life plan A and B" is NOT romantic

Ru-Wei and You-yan are simply NOT a good couple and I can't root for them. Their relationship is not love. If anything is codependency with a huge lack of communication. They want different things in life, they tend to make choices that involve both of them without consulting the other person at all, they are kinda toxic to one another. This is a story about two people that really, really do not want to be alone and tell themselves it's love and then don't understand why things are so hard.

I can't believe someone said "I'm going to write a romantic drama", sat down and then wrote this.

Fuck the whole "positivity online", you wanna complain?? Complain!!

I wrote a comment on a post about a series being renewed for a tenth season, I said I wasn't happy because series that go on for that long usually have a huge quality drop the longer they go on and I don't want that to happen to this series (even though it already has, though I didn't mention that).

The blog who made the post deleted my comment and apparently blocked me. Because my reply wasn't "yaaaaassssssss!! So happyyyyyyyy!! Season 10~!!!!".

Like. Wow. Literally the internet wants you to be all sunshine and rainbows or otherwise you're a pariah. Fuck that. Criticism can encourage growth. If there is no room or disposition for growth or change, then things may not be worth it.

Constructive criticism often comes from a place of love or concern. I worry about time sucking out the soul from this show because I like it, or some aspect of it. Some people prefer quality over quantity, and if you can't see that then I'm sorry that you don't want quality on your media.
