Ryder hated going to weddings, but it was his old friend from high school and he knew he didn’t have much of a choice when he received the invitation in the male. It was a weird atmosphere, seeing everyone from high school again, most of them married, some of them with kids. He had always expected his life to be different, in fact, a small piece had hoped that at this point in his life he would have been married to his ex. But here he was, sitting alone at the open bar, ignoring the horrible music from the DJ, and the small talk with people he hadn’t seen in years. He was just about to leave before his eyes caught the gaze of his ex. The ex. The one that he had been heartbroken because of for years. “Hey.” The male whispered, realizing that he couldn’t just hide after they already made eye contact. “How are you?” He questioned as he gave her a quick hug. It was the last person he expected to see, even though the groom was their mutual friend. He hadn’t heard from her in years, and he certainly didn’t think she’d show up to an event like this.
