Let’s be clear: there is nothing misogynistic about creating a *Beetlejuice* sequel in the form of fanfiction where Lydia and Beetlejuice finally develop a genuine, healthy relationship (especially considering how much Beetlejuice changed between the first and second movies). In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Gothic romance is a genre dominated by women for a reason... Besides, Lydia and Beetlejuice aren't real. They’re fictional characters you can play around with. Hell, even Winona Ryder ships them. Just let us enjoy our gothic fanon ships in peace.
