To all the people who think cats are incapable of affection

My cat won't stop meowing until I pet her She won't stop unless I sit down so she can lay with me She paws at my bedroom door if I accidentally shut her out at night She hates it when I pay more attention to video games than to her and she'll knock the controller out of my hand She follows me around the whole house She hates people but more often than not will brave the noise if I'm downstairs just so she can hang out with me She waits on the staircase for me to get home from school EVERY. DAY. Seriously she follows me around all the fucking time She is always the first to sense when my depression gets bad and then she REALLY won't leave me alone She's kneaded me to the point where I actually bled thanks to her claws She plays with my hair Spends literal hours merely licking me Cats may not be animals who are great for taking outside, or trusting your life to, but for God's sake, they are perfectly capable of affection. I'm the only person she sleeps with regularly. I'm the only person she LETS pick her up and just hold her. I'm the only person she lets pet her belly. I've had this cat for two years. When we rescued her, she was tiny, underfed, and sick. She was terrified of everything. It didn't help that she entered a household with two small children, two dogs, and a very territorial cat. Does that sound like ideal conditions for an affectionate cat? Not really, no. And yet, look at everything my cat does on a DAILY basis. Yes, DAILY. So, dog lovers. Think again before you say dogs are better because they are affectionate whereas cats aren't. Because you're wrong. I've grown up with both cats and dogs, and in my entire life, my cats have been more affectionate than my dogs. Thank you for reading, and I apologize if I offended any dog lovers out there. I mean no disrespect. I love dogs too, but I'm sick of the constant cat hate. Try and educate yourselves before you hate, okay?
