It's such a shame that Elain could never choose to be with her mate of her own volition because of the bonds influence. That if she ends up with Lucien, the bond coerced her into it. That really sucks for her.

But not as much as it sucks for Feyre. And Nesta. And Aelin. And Bryce. And Lidia. These poor, unempowered females with no agency to speak of whatsoever who are only with their fated mates because they have no choice to be. Especially because none of them liked their mates at first.

It's shitty all around, really :/
