A brief tutorial on How to Tag properly!
It’s that time of the year, my folks. After popular demand I am making this brief tutorial on how you should tag here on Tumblr. Please learn how to use tags properly.
Tags are made in order for a person to look up that specific tag and the content which refers to the tag.
I’m going to make an example! If I want to look up Ouran High School Host Club, what I want to see on my feed is legit and not violating the norms content which refers to OHSHC. What I do not want to see is content which makes hateful comments or dumb critiques on that specific content. (Tags which might go into the category, but does not limit it to, are #OHSHC, #Ouran High School Host Club, #Tamaki Suoh, #Anime).
Anti Tags are instead made for a person to look specific content which expresses an Anti feeling towards the tag content.
Example for anti tags: if you are making a post which goes against a content, or a tag, you should use the ANTI tag, instead of tagging normally. For example, if you want to see posts that express a concern, or a critique towards a certain character (let’s use Dabi because this is actually what is the post about) - you don’t tag it #Dabi, but instead there is this wonderful things called anti tag, and you should instead use #Anti Dabi. (Tags which might go into the category, but does not limit it to, are #Anti Dabi, #Anti Endeavour, #Anti Heroes, #Anti LOV, #Anti BNHA).
If you really also want to talk about something trigerring and tag it that way, use trigger warning tags. They help filtering and just keep people safe.
On the other hand, if you want to see content which is Pro something, there is this wonderful thing called Pro Tags! Pro tags are used when you express that you are in favour of the content you are posting.
If the content you are posting favours a ship, or a character, or a view of the thing you are posting, you are welcome to use Pro Tags (contrary to the anti ones) - and which are seen by people who share that opinion. What people are going to see is a favourable view of a certain thing, personality or whatever you are feeling like posting. (Tags which might go into the category, but does not limit it to, are #Pro Dabi, #Pro Endeavour, #Pro Heroes, #pro villains, #Pro LOV, #Pro BNHA).
Don’t flood the tags with your hateful content. And stick to the type of tags (depending on what you are publishing. If you are expressing a harsh critique, use anti tags - and if you are making a discussion it’s okay to use tags. But don’t hate on normal tags). Also, if you are posting original content please use tags relative ONLY to what you are posting. I don’t want to see in the #Min Yoongi tag gifs of Yeonjun from TXT, or generally other stuff which might be related, but it is NOT the content you are posting.
I am assuring you tagging wrongly is not giving more relevance to your posts. It just gives grief and makes hard the (useless in this case) time consuming activity which is tag filtering. Let people enjoying the content, without having to see posts which make dumb critiques and hate on stuff which should not be there. This tags are for you to thrive, not to bring down other people. Thanks.
