Takei is not going to change WHO he pairs Ren up with just because you didn't like it
I'm really glad no one ever harasses Takei or go as far as to send him death threats on him pairing up Ren with Jeanne, the same goes for his other staff members who draws RenMei (Jet kusamura and studio bridge). But it's quite annoying to see toxic Tao Ren fangirls / RenMei antis acting entitled in the quote retweet section on Twitter sometimes and they try dictating what he and his staff team can or cannot draw

God forbid a creator ships and draws their own characters together lol

no one is forcing you to ship Ren x Jeanne either
You could just literally block the official SK accounts if your that triggered to see your NOTP yknow 🤷♀️ I have my own fair share of story where I used to be a avid fan for another fandom (Funamusea) from 2014-2018 but I stopped keeping up with the creator entirely because she kept on drawing and posting my NOTP 24/7 everyday. I know for a fact she also ships one of my biggest NOTP from her other works and I didn't wanted to risk having my day ruined seeing my triggers on the timeline so I made the decision to unfollow her and stopped keeping up with her entirely to protect my own mental peace. As much as I don't agree with most pairings in her works, I do acknowledge that these are her OWN original characters. They're her OC's, her own creations-- her own babies basically. These are the characters she created so she's obviously gonna ship / draw and post about them, the same can also be said for Takei too
It's completely fine to not agree with canon ships. That is within your complete rights and preferences. You can voice your disappointment and bitch about your NOTP on your main account all you want as long as you're not actually and directly sending hate / harassing the main creators or bullying other fans / shippers. However just because Takei draws and posts your NOTP doesn't give you any right to be an entitled authoritative dictator directly in both the comments section and in the quote retweets, dictating what he can or cannot draw. You're just being a complete rude fucking asshole and not only that, you full on reek of entitlement. News flash, the world does NOT revolve around you! The world does not revolve around me, the world does not revolve around her, the world does not revolve around him, the world DOES NOT revolve around one single person. Just because your a fan doesn't always mean your "special" and won't be treated as an exception by creators. Shocking I know but that's how it is. Either relearn basic respect and proper etiquette OR get off the internet if you're not going to be civil and respectful
And by the way, for a canon ship that DID NOT get many years of acknowledgement or their lore expanded until in 2018 where SK's 20th anniversary happened, Takei finally sheds light on how Ren and Jeanne's dynamic work as a couple. It's only right for him and his staff team to draw more RenMei and showcase more of them as a couple together. He's allowed to explore, expand and showcase their dynamic, they're his characters for fucks sake. And not to mention, MANY FANS FOR YEARS (ESPECIALLY RENMEI SHIPPERS) HAS BEEN CURIOUS, REPEATEDLY ASKING HOW THE FUCK DID REN AND JEANNE HAPPENED. WHY, WHEN AND HOW? FANS WANTS THEIR BACKSTORY TOLD IN FULL DETAILS AS WELL AS THEY WANT TO SEE THEM AS A COUPLE. Again, it's only fair and right that the man is FINALLY touching on that topic even though we still don't have RenMei's full romantic backstory shown yet but at least he finally showed to us on how their dynamic worked as a couple in the sequels. It's both so funny and sad to see how so many RenMei antis think they can tell a full ass grown man on what he can or cannot do with his characters and his main pairings in SK, dictating how to run his own work and thinks they know the characters better then him, acting as if they created Ren when they obviously fucking didn't. It really reeks of entitlement and parasocial behavior. Once again, if you heavily get triggered seeing your NOTP (RenMei), then block the official SK accounts. Block takei. Block his entire staff team. Literally block all official SK accounts that posts Ren x Jeanne. Like it or not, Takei has every right to draw and post his main official SK pairings, that goes for RenMei too. He has every right to explore HIS characters dynamic and history and he'll continue to keep on doing so until the very end in the Shaman King sequels. Takei and his staff team does NOT owe you or anyone anything. You are not special, you are nothing but just a fan by the end of the day just like the rest of us. Get off your high fucking horse
