genuine question but why are you pro contact and anti recovery ?

TLDR; What other people do is none of my or your business, platonormativity exists and it's ass, and I would fistfight a therapist behind Denny's.

1) Assuming contact refers to romantic and sexual; I am repulsed aplatonic. Aside from me personally being unable give a fuck about people in a way that isn't romantic, I cannot comprehend why platonicity is considered inherently more pure and wholesome compared to the other two most recognized attractions, but from my POV a lot of it is platoninormativity, purity culture, and ageism. Platoninormativity is obvious. It wouldn't be considered weird to be friends with your nephew for example. People think intergenerational friendships are important. Meanwhile romance and sex are put on this double edged pedestal where they're both more intimate and "dangerous". Purity culture is sex after marriage and kink bad. Ageism it that romantic contact with youth is viewed with derision because they're seen as less than a person. How could a child have anything to offer in a relationship? Obviously they're just being used for sex. And sex being devalued like that is again, due to it's own multifaceted placing on normativity pedestal. I'm pro-consent and actually comp-c (not pro-c in all situations), but also what other people do with their lives is none of my fucking business and I know that if I had a shot with an older person I'd pursue it no matter what, so 🤷

Also adults should have no fucking say if children can consent or no.

obligatory "but power imbalance?" regardless of age, if I moved in with someone they'd become my de-facto caretaker because I'm disabled and struggle to care for myself. also I'm autistic and can't tell for shit when people lie to me. Does that mean people with physical and/or mental conditions shouldn't date or can't consent? No.

2) recovery is an inherently flawed and subjective concept when it comes to anything more complicated than a common flu, as well as carrying healthist undertones. Whether or not some being wants to recover, doesn't want to, or doesn't consider xyz thing something to recover from is no one else's business but theirs. Also, mental health professionals are pro-recovery, which is reason enough not to support that.
