Before you go and say, 'Being gay is a sin it's in the bible!'... Just, think about this.

The bibles claims many things, so here are some things you should think about before using religious bible quotes as a legal document. I am a catholic, I go to a catholic school that makes us pray every morning. But I'm not proud of what some of the bible verses are. I had to search for these, so not all of them will show where they are. Also, I DON'T MEAN TO OFFEND ANYONE WITH THESE CLAIMS. I just think we shouldn't take the bible as a legal document. If you disagree, das cool nigguh.

The bible also says, if the wife isn't a virgin, she shall be executed

If your child misbehaves, you can pelt him with stones.

If a woman is raped, she must marry the rapist.

"I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man. She must be quiet." (1 Timothy 2:12)

"Go, now, attack Amalek, and deal with him and all that he has under the ban. Do not spare him, but kill men and women, children and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and asses." (1 Samuel 15:3)

"When the men would not listen to his host, the husband seized his concubine and thrust her outside to them. They had relations with her and abused her all night until the following dawn, when they let her go. Then at daybreak the woman came and collapsed at the entrance of the house in which her husband was a guest, where she lay until the morning. When her husband rose that day and opened the door of the house to start out again on his journey, there lay the woman, his concubine, at the entrance of the house with her hands on the threshold. Wearing polyester is a sin.

No seriously. It's in Leviticus. I don't just have something against polyester. I've been looking this stuff up because I was having a conversation today about how ridiculous it is when people use Leviticus to back up their homophobia.

Leviticus also bans shaving, tattoos, fortune telling and also has a whole list of animals which should not be eaten (including shellfish and pigs).

Elsewhere in the bible.. women are banned from wearing silver or pearls and from braiding their hair (Timothy)

And in Deuteronomy men without two functioning testicles are banned from entering church.

Most people would think these rules rather ludicrous. So why can we not agree that the forbidding of homosexuality is also rather laughable.

And to the people who go with the interpretation of "actually you can have homosexual feelings, it's just SEX between homosexuals that's banned", I'd just like to say FUCK YOU. Who are you to tell people that they can't act on their feelings? Do you actually not realise how difficult that would be?

Sorry for the rant everyone, but this is just something I felt I needed to get out there.
