It’s raining again. Been raining for weeks now. Maybe years. Sure feels like it; time seems to flow like molasses when everything’s grey. A dame bursts into my office, screeching. She’s got legs. Legs that go all the way up. All legs, only legs. A ball of legs. Some men would say she’s got too many legs, but I’m not some men. She’s truly a creature, shambling frantically around the office, panicked noises and grunts coming from a seemingly nonexistent mouth. Legs come from everywhere, flailing, knocking over the chair and kicking me in the face. She crashes through the wall, slinking back into the dark.
Her brother is missing. I’m on the case.
