Probactrosaurus is a very late derived Hadrosauroid known from the Dashuigou Formation in Inner Mongolia, China. It lived about 96 to 88 million years ago, from the Cenomanian to Turonian ages of the Late Cretaceous. It has been recovered as very close to Hadrosaurids, and thus would have resembled the earliest members of that group. It was probably about 5.5 meters long and weighed about 1 tonne, however it was lightly built and had slender arms, hands, and small thumb spikes. It also had a narrow snout and elongated lower jaw, indicating that it probably fed like later Hadrosaurids did. It replaced teeth much like they did and probably was able to move both quadrupedally and bipedally.
