Wanna make a cool montage of all the things the new generation of bands is saying bookended by a Liam Gallagher quote about how he wanted his rockstars to be controversial. Possibly also including Carlos O'Connell's famous 'couldn't give a shit' comment/the 'Old man yells at cloud/Don't look back in anger' shirt. All the Kneecap stuff, the Bob Vylan stuff, the times Phoebe from Lambrini Girls has dropped from such heights I've had my heart in my mouth, all the times they've stood up for trans rights even at big events, etc. etc. etc. You see my vision. This post is budding in my drafts but if you can think of other fave moments (notably, it doesn't have to just be English or Irish bands, just this generation, I have badly chosen quite limited examples). Shout more of them at me. It's just quite poetic to me that all that stuff Liam himself said about being a rockstar now applies to a new generation and he's slowly coming to terms with it. But also our new bands are so fucking important rn
