I don’t understand why people think they’re gods when they call idols problematic. I seriously don’t get the term and why we have to label people by distinguishing their level of social problems.
Korea and western civilization are not one in the same. You cannot force your agenda of what cultural appropriation and social correctness is on a society that is functioning quite well without your interference. I know you think you’re doing “justice” for a group but I highly doubt they care that winwin had braids for one nct comeback.
On the other hand, we shouldn’t allow for blatant RACISM. In our western society, that definition has been skewed just a bit but in definition racism is just someone attacking another culture for no reason. Translation: saying black/brown/white/neon people suck is racist, I don’t care how problematic YOU think that group is. It’s racist to label a group of people by how YOU think they should act or by their shared beliefs that you don’t agree with.
In conclusion; politely correct idols who are being RACIST, and do not label them as “problematic” for stupid instances. It’s okay to label them as such if they’re continually being racist. Idols aren’t perfect robot people and they live in a society that’s very different from progressive America. Don’t be the ignorant fool who thinks they’re the hot shit and trash an idol because you think what they’re doing is wrong when really it isn’t (unless it is of course).
In conclusion don’t be a SJW for the kpop industry, I’m sure that any idol who has been labeled as problematic or has been bashed for something, they’re sorry. Whether they’ve apologized publicly or not.
