Rewatching American Gods. I always loved how unapologetically problematic Laura Moon was, but after a few years without seeing the show, I think I like her even more now. She’s an asshole, a hypocrite, a horrible person, and she doesn’t care. The only thing she ever really wanted was to feel something, and the only time she manages to feel anything is when she’s already dead and can’t actually feel anymore.
When I think about problematic female characters who deserve recognition, I definitely need to add her to the list, because what a problematic icon. I adore her.

I can’t write heterosexual romance without there being a scene where the female character ends up drunk as absolute shit, completely losing it and the setting doesn’t matter because she’s always on the verge of causing an accident, human casualties, a fire, an explosion, whatever because she’s gone into full rage mode, and the male character has to come running to stop a total fucking catastrophe, because she is literally a gremlin who appears after one drink past midnight.Because yes, my peak idea of romance is unregulated women and men whose job it is to stop them from ending up in a police station or killing someone.
