#problems with men

The other day at work somebody came up to me and “yoo-hooed” to get my attention while I was in the middle of doing something else. My response to that was to slowly turn and say “yesss?” And he acted all offended.

Like no, I’m not going to respond right away or very well when you or anyone else does that or whistles at me or whatever other similar thing. How would you like it if I did that to you? You wouldn’t.

The thing I’ve notice about how often and when this stuff happens while working at my retail job is that 98% of the time it’s straight white men who do this. It’s not the way to get my attention nor is it okay for you to do this. I am not your personal servant and you are not “King”. I am a f*cking human being.

Can someone explain to me why men think me raising my voice=yelling?

It's like...do you want me to yell at you? B/c I'll yell at you. 

But I'm pretty sure I know that raising my voice isn't yelling. And trying to convince me that I'm actually yelling isn't helping your cause b/c I just think you're an idiot with each word that comes out of your mouth.

I should've yelled. 

The question's rhetorical, I'm pretty sure it has to due with our system of inequality and the fact women are taught to be "quiet" and any sign of a louder voice is somehow louder than it actually is in men's heads.

The guys that won't date girls without makeup are the worse. "Oh they are just lazy." What if some girls can't afford makeup? What if some girls aren't comfortable with wearing makeup? What if some girls are actually comfortable without it and choose not to wear it? It's not called laziness, it's called doing what's best for ourselves, you prick.

I have one coworker who seems to completely despise me, and another who likes me a bit too much for comfort. And they both make me incredibly uncomfortable.

I don't know if this is a universal thing or not

but my older brother really, really sucks at talking to me. I will text him and message him and nothing. Absolutely no response. Okay sure he is a fully-fledged adult that has a job and a life and whatever, but come on. He can take two minutes out of his day to type a text that says "yes i'm alive. yes i got your texts. no i don't have a girlfriend yet. and yes i miss you, too." i mean is that really so difficult?
