SYMPTOMATIC PATIENT CURRENT STATE SERVICE MAP, 2017. In anticipation of designing a new service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center that responded to patient communications about symptoms, I built a current state map of symptom triage through extensive workshopping with many stakeholders. The purpose was to build shared understanding of the existing process so we could collectively design the new process. In the course of building the map, it became clearer that there were previously unidentified stages of the process that could be mirrored in the new process.

I needed to develop a process map to clearly demonstrate how my project will unfold. It begins with the investigation of a phenomena and a metaphor to accompany it, following this I have selected six individual ‘spaces’ of routine and interaction within the dwelling to apply certain aspects of these phenomena to, to create a sensory experiences which “connect” the dweller to the natural.
