A small piece of the work process.
i think she hates me
How are your pencils so creamy? All of your drawings are so bold yet so detailed, like the lines pop but they're not like mad scribbles I'm genuinely curious, cause no way it's just some random mechanical pencil
Thank you ^_^
I use an 0.5 mechanical pencil with 2B O.5mm thick pencil leads.
When it comes to drawing, I play around with the values, drawing over important lines that got smudged during the process, like I did on this SCP 049 sketch I'll use as an example.
When it comes to taking the picture, I try to make the paper as flat as possible, weighing it down with my phone and that piece of rock you can see in the upper right corner and take the photo with my tablet. I also have to make sure my room is bright, but no direct light shines onto the drawing, because graphite reflects and makes it too shiny.
But as you can see, this pic is still very different from what I usually post and it's also incredibly different from how the drawing looks irl. This is where the gallery of my tablet comes in.
I go to edit the picture, cut it to the right size, then I bring the Saturation down to 0, the Contrast up to 100, along with the Highlights and Light balance, in that order, (those last 2 can be a bit lower at times (around 85-100) depending on how the light was in my room.)
I then sometimes play around with the Brightness and Exposure, but those always vary and aren't always necessary.
Lastly, I go to the drawing/decorating option and draw over all the left over smudges I don't like with white (which I tried to record but the screen redorder kept crashing while I tried to use it and the gallery at the same time 😭), sometimes colour picking black for really dark areas that didn't come over on camera as well as they do irl.
And ta-da! It's done!
Here’s the full process of my Sauron drawing. From the first rough sketch to hours of shading armor plates and that chainmail (which took forever, structural patience was tested! ⚔️).

Commissions are available now 🟢
In this work, I'm trying to draw in black and white first, and then move on to color. Now it seems to me that it’s better without the lineart 😅
A random mermaid process WIP I wanted to share from this year.
