what was the prof doing (like what stuiff was he associated with) and what are some things you'd recommend to learn more. johnny needs more books to read I GUESS
He was doing GEOLOGY in AUSTRALIA and going a bit crazy while sledging to the SOUTH MAGNETIC POLE and then during WWI he was SURVEYING until he fell into a WELL!!! After this he started writing a BOOK about AUSTRALIAN GEOLOGY but DIED before it was FINISHED!!! He also found PRE CAMBRIAN FOSSILS!!!
These are the broad strokes of his life that I gathered mainly from his wikipedia page as I haven't done any in depth reading other than general stuff about the Nimrod. And alas I did the far majority of my Nimrod reading before The Year of The Prof started so I was not particularly paying attention to him. I know he kept a diary during it but idk if it was published. I haven't been looking anywhere other than his darling eyes lately
