If the high schools in my favorite books existed I'd be a professional student.
This is totally my life right now.
New semester, new (ish) major, new motivation 😌

Birthday happiness!
My birthday was yesterday and it was amazing! I’m healing well from surgery, I started a “Spirit School” for the kiddos that live here in my complex. Word is getting out and the kids are having a blast running around my house learning about things. I met two new people that have really good energy and I was able to help them and make friends. I feel so blessed!
The kids kicked me out of the house so they could decorate my birthday cake for me too.
Thank you Ed for the tree of life. It’s made of Smokey quartz and tigers eye wrapped in copper with a piece of black tourmaline to ground everything out. The labradorite piece is gorgeous!
So much to be thankful for! Thanks to everyone that made my day special yesterday! I truly feel spirit has given me a new purpose in life and I am truly grateful and humbled by what they have shown me and what they have brought into my life.
Have a great, positive day everyone! Namaste and brightest blessings to all!
I really should either do a thing for uni or go home... instead I'm sitting on the floor in the uni library listening to my friends be productive whole looking at stupid shit on tumblr. Excellent.
Pharmacy School: A Summary
Hi all! Thought I would start by making my first (2017) post. I’ve been on and off tumblr for about a year due to school so i’m looking for more blogs to follow. Send a chat/follow/reblog or anything, really, my way and i’d love to check out your blog!
So... a common question I receive is: what is pharmacy school like?
As a quick summary: I’m currently a P1 at EMSOP (Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy). It’s a 6 year program at Rutgers University in New Jersey.
My credits per semester were: 15, 21, 20, 22, 22.5, and i’m currently taking 19.
I’m current an Apartment Assistant (AA)
I was a General Chemistry TA for 3 semesters and held office hours as well as 3 hour review sessions prior to exams
I conducted lung cancer research at the Cancer Institute of NJ.
I’ve held Eboard positions for two years as a member of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP)
This is my typical week this semester minus some meetings:
I use Google Calendar and color code them by obligation.
My courses this semester are:
Intro to Pharmacology
Molecular Biotechnology
Drug Delivery and Lab
Pharmaceutical Care
Adventures in Pharmacy
Concepts of Pharmaceutical Practice
Principles of Pharmacy Economics
The semester is picking up really quickly and with that, a lot of material to constantly go over. I have anxiety issues and constantly feel like i’m falling behind no matter how much I study. My planners and folders eventually get larger and larger until they explode??
I’ve experimented a lot with how I prefer to take notes. Last semester, I took my notes on my laptop. For certain classes, a few friends and I would transcribe the lecture notes, especially if a professor is notoriously known to talk quickly or if the course is really difficult. I’m not a huge fan of studying in groups.
This semester, I went back to pen and paper. I find it helps me focus on the material more rather than mindlessly typing everything verbatim. All of our lectures are recorded so it’s easy to go back and listen to something I missed. I also have other members of our transcription group in case I don’t have time to listen to the recording.
THEN
NOW
That’s basically the next four months of my life! Sleep, coffee, class, study, occasionally go home, repeat! I’d love to get to know you all and your achievements/careers more. So please don’t hesitate to reach out and let me know if you have any questions!
