OC question time, if you are feeling up to it!

How do your characters handle success? Are they constantly pushing for the next goal or do they stop and let themselves celebrate? Would they be willing to show that they are pleased with their achievement or keep it to themselves?

The answer for this greatly depends on who you’re asking... A few of them (Basu, and Zhaleh for example) are always pushing for the next thing. They rarely take breaks, they’re always pushing themselves to be better, to learn something new. They have to be reminded by other people to stop and let the last victory savor a little bit.

Vie (and a handful of the Corbeau children) are really bad about accepting their success. They feel like they’re unworthy of being given the credit for it. They want to celebrate, but they’re afraid.

No matter the success, Dubhan will stop and celebrate, even if the celebration is just a night with his beloveds. He will celebrate his successes.

What is your character's greatest strength? What in themselves can they always rely on? What comes easily to them?

Hmm, let’s go with Wikki and her family for this one!

Wikki has always been able to retain information and think on her feet well. She can get a plan quickly and remembers a lot of details most people tend to forget quickly. She’s able to stay relatively calm in times of crisis, but sometimes panics and needs help.

Lexii has always had a knack for mesmer magic, especially invisibility and illusions. While she can’t think on her feet as well as Wikki, she can create complex plans and figure out problems if she’s given time.

Twussa is very skilled at reading people. Especially sylvari, since she’s been around them so much, but she can read how people are feeling by the subtle clues on their face and actions. She prides herself on being able to tell how she needs to act around people.

Basu is an incredible teacher and researcher, even if she tends to lose track of time. She can pick up on what type of learning would be best for someone and help them with adjusting to that.

Hiya, I want to offer you Reza Afsali/Reza II of Orr (he/him, bisexual) for the character match up since I've already told you a little about him. He's a descendant of Orrian royalty and a scholar in the Durmand Priory. As for his personality, he's a prankster and was the Priory's local troublemaker (he was Sieran's partner in crime), though he became much more responsible later. He's a talented scholar, a polyglot, but still a fun loving guy.

okay okay but I actually think, past that, he'd be good friends with Basu. She's also in the priory and is pretty lenient with tricks and pranks. She loses track of time REAL BAD though so it'll be years since he's seen her but she doesn't even realize. But she'd adore talking about anything and everything, especially if they do it in Orrian or any other language. She is too a polyglot after all.

Suibhne sometimes calls Madeline “Maddie”. Only when they’re alone, however, as calling her that in public, even just in front of her mother, has gotten him punished for being so casual with his “master”.

Aela lives with the Kodan in Song of Exile. She’s a devotee of Raven, and has decided to live among them to help her focus. Watch me stick her into the story: She helps during the Snowden Drifts DRM.

Basu has always struggled with keeping track of time. Especially when she’s deep into her studies. She’d been known when the three of them were progeny to forget to eat because she’d started as soon as she woke up and didn’t stop until she looked up and it was dark out.

Takikki is amazing at haggling for a lower price. He wants to keep his shinies, he will haggle you down. He has once been paid 30 gold in value for the items he traded for a sword. He and Koowan still laugh about that trade.

Kyveli’s "parents” didn’t know she was a djinn and not their biological daughter until long after they moved to the mainland. She protected their tiny village from a mordrem attack, having to shed her human disguise. The others who lived there were grateful to the djinn, her “parents” were horrified.
