I’m with ya. This reminds me of Professor Hotstuff’s laptop background wallpaper in my future!dwbyg oneshot Extra Credit. Which Lexa accidentally projects to her entire class during her first lecture.

Would Clarke ever guest lecture in Lexa's class? I forget what she teaches, but if it's "queering American literature" then maybe it's one of the last lectures as a break out into other forms of media that have been "queered", like adult movies... Clarke talks about general themes and doesn't talk about her movies and doesn't mention she used to be an actress, but obviously everyone looks her up and the next day Lexa's students cannot believe their nerdy prof is married to a porn star

Lol, I like this! However, there’s an existing headcanon that goes:

Sometime after Lexa unintentionally projects her laptop wallpaper background of Clarke during her first class, the students do some sleuthing and discover Prof Hot Stuff’s wife is an ex-porn star. They’d already been concocting sordid stories in their heads about their Assistant Professor and her smoking hot wife but, when they learn about Clarke’s former career, it reaches a whole other level—culminating in fan art and ‘Fifty Shades of Tweed’, an RPF fanfic the students start collectively writing on the HotBust tumblr blog.

(Readers of DWBYG being that extra, someone did actually create a spoof blog. I promise, it wasn’t me.)

Clarke doesn’t make an appearance at one of Lexa’s classes—in any sort of teaching capacity, anyway—but she does get invited to give a guest lecture by one of Lexa’s colleagues when, at a Department of Feminist and Gender Studies soirée at Indra’s house, Clarke gets recognised by Dr Tsing. She teaches a class on ‘Pornography: Through a Feminist Lens’ and is familiar with Kassie Skai’s oeuvre, since her movies are considered good examples of feminist-friendly porn, and Dr Tsing thinks her students would gain tremendous insight from Clarke’s firsthand account of her experiences within the industry. The guest lecture is so over-subscribed that Indra has to organise a much larger venue to accommodate the numbers.

On a scale of shamelessly flirting over coffee to dry humping Lexa against a wall, how desperately thirsty does Clarke get when Professor Hotpants is gone for a week (or longer) to a teaching conference?

During their longer separations Clarke has been known, on occasion, to get on a flight and surprise Lexa at her hotel. In the guise of a fellow conference delegate (sexy academic role play). So let’s just say that Clarke’s thirst breaks the scale.

yesterday i had my first non normative bodies and sexualities class and after i walked out of the building i heard someone loudly declare that they think they're crushing on our professor now. it reminded me of every student and professor lexa

Lol, that’s how it first happens with Lexa. Someone admits their crush and suddenly everyone is like: “Bitch, me too. The fuck.” Shortly thereafter, someone sets up a ‘Professor Hot Stuff’ Instagram so they can collectively swoon over Prof Lexa and her OOTD (it usually involves elbow patches). It gains quite a following.

i imagine that all of lexa's students have only seen her serious, studious side. enthusiastic and passionate, but not the full on nerdy side that clarke knows and loves

A few months after Jack is born, Clarke brings the baby by Lexa’s office sometimes while the students are lingering (any flimsy excuse to get a few more minutes of Prof Hotstuff’s time and attention). That’s when the students’ collective crushing reaches a whole new level. Because Lexa is the biggest goofball with Jack: making silly faces that have Jack toothlessly grinning and making grabby hands. The students are swooning so hard they have to hold each other up. And Clarke’s fully aware of what’s going on and smirking to herself.

One of the final two entries for the HotBust Movie Calendar was a nod to the round robin RPF fic that Professor Hotstuff’s students are writing (currently 72 chapters long), entitled ‘Fifty Shades of Tweed.’

Closing out the calendar is Lexa’s all-time favourite teen movie: Sixteen Candles.

lexa blowing raspberries on jack's tummy and jack squeals and giggles, and everyone knows baby laughs are contagious so.... students almost faint when they hear the whole griffin-woods family giggling. and then the realization that jack and lexa have the same laugh?? that kills the students
