thinking about Todd Anderson
I went to the theatre to see a play of Dead Poets Society. It was magnificent and I now need to watch the film again, consume content again, and flood people with it again
It was right before the Christmas after Neil’s Broadway debut when they received the letter in the mail.
Neil was the one who brought it in from their mailbox, but he had tossed the pile of what he assumed were bills on the table to look over later. Todd was the one who found it, who recognized the name on the return address.
“What the—” he had said, sitting at the table with his cup of coffee. “Neil, did you see this?”
“See what?” Neil said. He had been rooting through the fridge, looking for something to snack on.
“This letter,” Todd said. Neil shut the fridge as Todd ripped the envelope open. “From Richard Cameron.”

i think it’s about time me and professor keating sat down, had a cup of tea, and marvelled over the importance of the humanities
Keating: Now, who’s next?
Mr. Anderson, I see you sitting there in agony.
Come on, Todd, step up. Let’s put you out of your misery
Todd: I, I didn’t do it. I didn’t write a poem.
truth is like a blanket that leaves your feet cold,
you push it, stretch it, it’ll never be enough
you kick at it, beat it,
it’ll never cover any of us
from the moment we enter crimes
to the moments we leave dying
It’ll just cover your face
as you wail,
and cry,
and scream.
