My brother and I just finished watching The Big Bang Theory. When they were airing season 12 last year we missed a month of episodes around episode 3 or 4, so we decided to wait until the yearly TBBT marathon. Then we got HBO and we decided to watch the whole series from 1x01 till 12x24.

I don't remember when I got into this. I do remember the situation, though. I must've 14 or 15, having lunch at my best friend's place (who would later on start to study physics and engineering). He knew the series, cause it was on right after The Simpsons, I didn't because I avoided the latter series like the plague (still do). He got me into it with quite a strange phrase: "it's got the perfect intro. Not too long, not too short, good, understandable lyrics." That was it. Whenever it was on and I happened to be in front of the TV, we'd watch it.

It's unbelievable how, from discovering it around season 6-ish, I became so attached to these characters. I even cried during the last two episodes (which we watched today, in spite of our planning), and I sort of don't know what to watch next.

As a scientist myself, a bit socially awkward and a girl, TBBT has been an amazing show to watch. It was fun, sometimes exasperating, and always entertaining.

I can't imagine a show having such a great impact on me ever again, and I certainly believe this is the sitcom of our generation. This team of actors, writers and producers are gold, and this has been a show to remember.
