Shoma Uno, Moonlight Sonata || 2018 Japan Open
Shoma Uno taught us a lesson on elegance with his costume for his free program: Moonlight Sonata. Designed by Mathieu Caron, Uno’s outfit is beautifully tailored to fit his free skate perfectly. I love how the designer played with the different shades of blue, specially with the ombre effects on the top. The blue and gold rhinestone details also add that ‘starry night’ effect, which matches flawlessly with the theme of the program. Also, I find that the draping in Shoma’s shirt, similar to Guillaume Cizeron’s costume from last season which you can see here, adds a touch of elegance and enhances Uno’s silhouette magnificently. This is another perfect example on how to match a costume to a program to add that aesthetic plus to the performance. Shoma Uno’s FS costume is definitely one of my favorites from this season and I’m definitely exited to see what costumes he will be choosing next.
