comparisons of spaghetti code and structured code are often a bit unfair, as the structured code is indented and the spaghetti code isn’t, and I suspect that the indenting is doing more the comprehension than the strict control. Now structured code does make it easier to decide how to indent code; so the comparison isn’t completely unfair. And I am not one to claim that goto is actually easier to read, it isn’t; but the comparisons might exaggerate the difference. (They also often don’t use meaningful names for their labels which is another way that goto can be made easier to read) Vaguely related: sometimes non-control-flow indenting can make code easier to read. Like when assembling html elements in javascript, using indenting to group lines that modify single element is helpful in my opinion. (though of course respecting style guides and not surprising other programmers is also pretty important)

Quote for thought.
Beauty is more important in computing than anywhere else in technology because software is so complicated. Beauty is the ultimate defence against complexity.
