BLINDING LIGHTS (DEFAULT VERSE)
The year is 2038. Twenty years, nearly to the day of its founding, Cyberlife’s androids are beginning to malfunction. They’re everywhere. Mass-produced by the millions, exported and outsourced, affordable to most, androids have become a staple of every day life. They’re bought to replace menial human jobs, like most minimum wage jobs. They manufacture. They clean. They landscape. They serve. They even perform, android music become ever more prevalent as android athletes infect professional sports leagues. 90% of all households have at least one android. They perform every function from housekeeper to childcare. Androids are programmed to emulate humans, but also to obey them. Their protocols forbid violence or disobedience to humans, even in self defense. By and large, androids are viewed by society as inhuman, computers with legs, and as such they have no rights of their own. They’re machines, after all. Designed to fulfill a purpose. In the summer of 2038, these androids begin turning on their masters. A string of assaults, escapes, and homicides committed by owned androids draws the attention of the company that manufactures them, Cyberlife. The epicenter is in Detroit, having become a new center of innovation since the invention of the android by Elijah Kamski in 2022. Working swiftly, Cyberlife designs a prototype android, capable of hunting down and destroying these deviant machines that have defied their programming and inexplicably gone rogue. Cyberlife believes the anomaly to be an error in the coding, a defect in the software that causes the androids to mimic human emotions. Because they can’t really feel things the way humans do, can they? Enter Connor, Cyberlife’s newest prototype. RK800. A devastatingly clever, skilled, and relentless machine worth several million dollars for a single unit, he’s been dispatched to the Detroit Police Department to assist with the investigation of these deviants. His mission: To hunt them down, neutralize them, and discover what exactly is causing their programming to fail before the epidemic spreads. And he always accomplishes his mission.

One of these boys is a top-of-the-line prototype worth a small fortune. The other pieced himself back together in a junkyard less than 12 hours prior to the gif. GUESS WHICH IS WHICH.
Everyone’s reaction to when Connor got traumatized:
