I just finished the 'Mother Of Black Hollywood by #jenniferlewis & this quote (not from the book btw but that jawn was riveting - I love you #jennifermuthafuckinlewis) encapulates one of my takeaways. That big bad darkness, negativity, pain can not be avoided forever. Triggers are real, trauma is real & all will come to light, often as self destructive behaviors instead of alchemy. My soulwork is about journeying through the light AND dark, about all of that juicy shadow dancing with shame & guilt & lack. Every mirror work session, every forgiveness meditation, etc. is excavating the meaning behind the patterns & strengthening my self love muscle.
