Writing Log #1: The Start
My writing project didn't start as planned, but I used these two months to clarify my ideas about what to want to write, accumulate material, and outline a daily routine built on simple principles. This little blog is simply a logbook for writing down my literary thoughts and everything that's on my mind.
I decided to structure my writing routine by dividing it into theory and practice. Theory, treating it as if it were a discipline in academia and practice like grammar exercises.I spent January and February researching sources, both written (books and blogs) and videos on YouTube, as well as inspirations and additional resources on Pinterest. These months have also been spent selecting the genres and subgenres I want to write, choosing sources for creative writing exercises, and reading about other advice mix sites.I couldn't write more than 5 lines, a block was coming in and furthermore that little material cannot be judged positively. Hence the move to microfiction instead of the short 5-page story I wanted to do. Also read and critically analyze texts from my target genres, analyze and review the previous day's written work and finally start reading again as I once did (one book a week).
- cold writing of a microfiction story , used a prompt from a book
-theory (1 blog post, 1 YouTube video, starting a book) and taking notes
-creative writing exercises
-target genre "Lovecraftian horror" and beginning of his study
It seems like a lot and a little at the same time but the fact of having started is something. Tomorrow I'll do the first ever review of the work, I'll add a microstep now, or for the very last thing, schedule the next day's work.
That's all I can say for this first day, see you at the next update
