I finally vinyled all my Post Marsh Oroject CDs and it feels so good.
Day: 895 Shirt: Minutemen - the Roar Of The Masses Could Be Farts Color: White Brand: Hanes Source: Today is the anniversary of D. Boons death. fucking tragic man.
Dude really turned the idea of punk rock inside out and on its head. he made it political, he made it country, it made it jazzy. Fuck..he made it great. I really cant imagine what my life would be like today if i hadn't heard the Minutemen. i certainly wouldn't enjoy folky music like i do.
Do nothing but listen to Minutemen today. Yeah Joe Strummer also died today too but much like Darby Crash D. Boon has to live in the shadow of someone else's demise today. TO be honest i never get weird or sad about people that i don't know , never knew but this guys music literally and figuratively sang to me. i can honestly say i love this dude.
ALL HAIL D. Boon.

I'm following the legendary Raymond Pettibon on the Twitts. As I'm sure you know he created THAT Black Flag album cover. Yesterday he retweeted some dude who linked to this photo of msr petitbonbon with D Boon. It's one awesome photo.
I regularly wonder what would have happened to the Minutemen had D not didummed in that car accident. Would they have taken Project Mersh to it's natural conclusion? Or would they have split up only to be reforming now like so many other bands. Or would they have just carried on being awesome?

Greg Ginn, why must you be such a jerk.
Apparently SST Records, owned by Greg Ginn, has been utilizing the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to claim copyright infringement on a vast number of videos that utilize brief clips of music from Black Flag, including skateboard videos made by fans. Well, gosh, that’s what copyright holders can do, though it does seem sort of mean.
SST has also claimed multiple copyright takedowns on bands that have nothing to do with SST, including X, Fear, Sin 34, Lower Class Brats, Puzzled Panthers, and the Adolescents. Also affected, videos made by fans under Fair Use, utilizing snippets of songs.
