Anybody ever wonder what they truly mean in S1 with the Senkuns "strengths and weaknesses being maximized"? I do. Currently started to rewatch the entire S1 and observe all of their interactions to see their character development. Will post some theories when I have something conreate. i’m officially announcing it. the vampire suburbs will be in production starting monday (9/27/21). Read about it on the google doc plan 

and by production, i mean writing. ahha, i say it like i’m animating or drawing a comic. there will be drawings for chapter covers, of course! the current book cover is temporary until i get off my butt and draw a proper, more original one. 

basic description: In a world of anthropomorphic animals, there lies a city in Virginia named Omnidale. There’s a lot more talk about the city itself, but it’s the suburbs where the real magic happens. For Aspen “Penn” Raine, things are wonderful! But on a day in November, things really take a surprising turn that throws his life off course.

Inspired by Art Project Plan

Aims - my aim is to plan and produce two portraits based on the theme of the Dutch Masters portraiture. I have already done one of them at the college studio so i only need to focus on one on location (home). 

Objectives - 

To create one fine art portrait at home

Develop research skills

Develop communication skills 

Create my own little studio set up at home to achieve the image I want to have 

Develop studio lighting skills and understanding

The clothes and colours on this portrait is what inspired me to recreate it

The model is not showing a happy expression as its being taking serious during the time period the portrait was made. 

Colour, Lighting and framing is what i will look more into on this portrait to help me recreate it.

The possible materials and techniques - I will try to use different lighting techniques to experiment with the image at home. Using a soft box, window light and lamp light to give me different lighting tones; Soft box to give me a more professional light, Window light to give me a cold blue light tone and light from a lamp to give a warm dark tone of light. I will use materials such as a red scarf or cloth to have a similar look to what the model is wearing on the portrait. I will also mess around with the final selected image on Adobe Lightroom to touch up anything that needs done to it. I like the idea of the red turban that the model is wearing on the portrait because it will be easy for me to recreate at home and manipulate it to look identical to the one Jan Van Eyck’s model is wearing.
